Parc De La Tête D'Or

La Roseraie

The rose garden (la roseraie) in the Parc de la Tête d’Or has an abundance of flowers at the moment. For a lot of the year it sits there quietly, unadorned, in shades of green.

Geese Walk

After a long technical day immersed in work, putting together this little film walking through a gaggle of geese, was a delight.

Bee Hotel

Our nearby park has a bee hotel. This structure, filled with drilled logs, hollow sticks and dried mud, provides a home for native bees.

A Sunny Sunday

While Graham has been keeping you up-to-date here, I’ve been in something of a hibernation. So, I though it was time I came out of my cosy little corner, and reconnected with the world, if only to share these photos from our walk in the park this afternoon.

Is This the Spikiest Tree?

A short film of yesterday’s spikiest tree, the Gleditsia Caspica, in Lyon’s parc de la tête d’or.

The Spikiest Tree – Gleditsia Caspica

There is a tree in parc de la tête d’or that is seriously spiky. The Gleditsia Caspica; a tree from the mountainous Caucasus region in Iran.

Pigeon at Dusk

I was lucky this evening. Camera never far away, I captured this image.

Warmth Returning

Compared to the refined and cultivated feel of parc de la tête d’or, feyssine feels less managed. The two parks almost touch and both are well looked after, but they seem designed for different audiences.

Last Leaves

The last leaves are clinging on the trees in our nearby park.

Changing Leaves

The trees in our nearby park are changing; their vibrant greens slowly being replaced by the reds and yellows of autumn.
