Garden

Blossom

Our long established cherry trees have burst into flower this week. The warmer weather has arrived and the garden is returning to life.

Snake in the Grass

Snake in the grass

The texture of the snake gave it away. The light reflecting off the skin seemed out of place, somehow unnatural and unnerving. It took a moment to figure out what had caught me off guard. Once found, my only thought was getting the camera.

Easter Baking and Brambles

After too many years without, this is our first Easter with a proper oven. What better time than to bake some hot cross buns?

10.2.1 – Catching Up

Our next site visit is rapidly approaching, and I’ve barely had time to catch my breath after the last one. Things are moving quickly, and combined with a busy work schedule, it is easy to feel overwhelmed.

8.2.1 – Divided

We visited the house this weekend. There was no site meeting, and being the summer holidays, there is not even any work happening. We visited just to visit, to look around, and decide a few things before work picks up again in September.

8.1.1 – In The Garden

Our garden, impenetrable jungle though it may have become, is full of lovely things.

5.0.1 – Up, up, up

The house is progressing so quickly that every visit offers an exciting surprise. For this site visit we got to go upstairs and look around for the first time.

4.0.2 – Happy for Rain

I’m sure few people building a house are pleased to see rain forecast. Rain on building sites tends to mean delays. I’m not hoping for rain, but when I checked the weather forecast and saw a few showery days ahead for Vichy, I smiled.

Bourg-en-Bresse Sightseeing

Bourg-en-Bresse was small enough to be easily walkable, and there was more to see than I expected.

Little Harvests

Today we got our first proper-sized radish; crunchy, spicy, and bright pink.
