Confluence of Rhône and Arve

The Rhône’s waters are clear and glass like having come from the settled lake. The water of the Arve is cloudy with material carried down from the mountains. Where they merge is a confluence.

After the Rain

A beautiful photo looking down Cours Lafayette towards the centre of Lyon. Unadjusted and unedited, the colour is as I saw it.

Street Tree Felling

The trees along Cours Lafayette have been cut down. The view down the street has been dramatically altered.

A Separate Identity

Much like keeping a scrapbook or photo album dedicated to a specific period of your life, I hope that Love Allier will fill that role for us.

Whirlwind Through Our Schedules

I have learnt that with French strikes, it is better to wait and see before cancelling plans.

Nutty Squirrel

A loud red squirrel caught my attention in the park. Camera always on hand, I zoomed in and we watched it nibble away.

Dry Ink

An unexpected e-mail early this morning made me happy. The long awaited document had arrived.

Wet Ink

After nearly a year of delays, we have signed and paid for the land. Our home is one step closer.

Christmas Lights in Lyon

After a subdued festival of lights, Lyon’s Christmas lights were particularly welcome this year.

Christmas Village in a Garden Centre

Our local Botanic garden centre has a Christmas Village. Still a shop but a fun outing on a Sunday in December.
