Each Friday night during July, the Docklands in Melbourne held a free fireworks event. As the month passed, the crowds that gathered each Friday night increased.
Puffing Billy Steam Train Film and Photos
Puffing Billy is the name of a narrow gauge steam train service based in Victoria, Melbourne. The restored steam engines, carriages, tracks, and station are beautifully maintained.

Penguins at St Kilda
During the last two weeks, the penguins have appeared at St Kilda, Melbourne. In the early morning hours I have seen ten or more at a time while out running.

We stumbled upon our first customer operated automatic ice-cream machine today. The machine is in Ikea, Melbourne, and everyone who used it came away grinning with simple joy.
Chinese New Year – 2011 Year of the Rabbit
Melbourne’s Chinatown district marked Chinese New Year with celebrations today. Megan and I went along to enjoy the parade and see the assorted stands and stalls in the streets.
