Drip, Drip, Dripping
Within seconds, the hidden drips emerged becoming a pitter-patter of water cascading down from the tiles onto my desk. Water falling just above an array of power cables, sockets, and electrics.
Lyon at Night
Last night we ventured out around ten o’clock. The temperature had dropped to 30°C and the air was absolutely dry with no breeze. I took my camera and we went for an amble.
Prototype One
My first 3D print arrived this week and I was ecstatic. The small widget arrived in an unassuming padded envelope. Inside was a receipt and a snap lock bag containing my printed design.
My First 3D Print
I ordered my first printed object this afternoon. That I can design an object, have it manufactured, and delivered all without leaving my desk is incredible.
Parc des Célestins
For four months we lived within a hundred metres of this hidden gem. Only after seeing a programme on arte did we realise what was hidden so close below our feet.
Going to Seed
Where once there was a small field of bright red poppies, now the field has turned to shades of white and grey. The poppies are going to seed.
Less Human
I was lucky. Through asking around on forums I was given a recommendation of an English speaking dentist in Lyon. Dr. Alexandre Baroud’s web site makes no mention of being a polyglot – maybe speaking three languages is not so note worthy here – but he speaks excellent English and is surprisingly used to English speaking patients.
Geneva At Long Last
It had been too long since I last visited Geneva. Megan and I visited our friends in Geneva for the first time in many years this weekend.
Fireworks and the Crowd
There was little sign of the pushing and shoving of the crowd last night. Getting around in Lyon can often involve moving among crowds of jostling commuters, shoppers, and onlookers.
Services Parade
We watched the parade near Foch in Lyon yesterday evening. The parade is part of la Fête Nationale celebrations.
