“Going to put that on Facebook.” the man near me quietly wondered aloud. I was not convinced he wanted an answer or even intended I could understand him. He had spoken in English more to himself than to anyone else around.

Hot Water

After two weeks without hot water, I am looking forward to running that hot tap soon. The plumbers have just finished and are leaving behind a brand new water heater. The new heater looks identical to our last but this one is not leaking water through the electrics.

York

We arrived in York late in the day with the sun having set a few hours before. The streets were dark and we could only catch a glimpse of the fortified walls and gates that surrounded the old town.

My Cupcake

The cupcake store is clearly still a novelty in this city, Lyon. A food lover’s city in a country with pastries and delicious treats available on almost every street.

Scottish National Gallery

We often find ourselves in art galleries and museums during our travels. They offer us refuge, calm, and an enjoyable way to spend a few hours. The Scottish National Gallery in Edinburgh was no exception.

National Railway Museum

We were surrounded by train engines, carriages, and history. The National Railway Museum in York, UK, was wonderful.

Every 30 Seconds

For the last few days this site, The Work Life, has been undergoing a persistent attack. Every 30 seconds an attempt was being made on our WordPress administration page. The attack made no impact on the site but did turn up in our log files as an anomaly.
