Scottish Highlands by Train
During our trip to Scotland we took the train from Glasgow to Fort William, and then up to Mallaig. The scenery is stunning.
Making Movie Splitter
Movie Splitter was accepted into the Mac App Store. That was a good moment. One Megan and I have yet to properly celebrate; traditionally, launches require a decadent slice of chocolate cake or another treat.
Macabre Marseille
I did not expect to see such a macabre collection of artefacts: skulls, mummies of various animals, and shrunken human heads. The items were all on display in Marseille’s Centre de la Vieille Charité.
Cherry Blossoms
I have been taking photos of the same tree for a couple of years now. The tree sits near traffic lights on Boulevard des Belges and is unassuming. Then for a few weeks, the tree becomes a colourful burst of petals and pink.
More Squirrels
Below are a few photos and a short film of squirrels foraging in our local park. Most of the shots are taken at maximum zoom.
Exporting Contacts to CSV
An AppleScript to export name and e-mail addresses from Contacts.app on Mac OS X to a Comma Separated Values (CSV) file.
Lyon Funicular - Fourvière to Saint-Jean
“Going to put that on Facebook.” the man near me quietly wondered aloud. I was not convinced he wanted an answer or even intended I could understand him. He had spoken in English more to himself than to anyone else around.
Hot Water
After two weeks without hot water, I am looking forward to running that hot tap soon. The plumbers have just finished and are leaving behind a brand new water heater. The new heater looks identical to our last but this one is not leaking water through the electrics.
York
We arrived in York late in the day with the sun having set a few hours before. The streets were dark and we could only catch a glimpse of the fortified walls and gates that surrounded the old town.
Hello Internet
Megan and I have listened to the first three and they are enlightening, entertaining, and from the heart.
