Selfie Sticks

I first noticed selfie sticks during our trip to Brussels. I had heard of them before but never seen them in use.

A selfie stick is an extendable pole with a clamp on one end. The clamp holds your camera or phone. Using the stick you can take photos of yourself without needing anyone else’s help.

I presume the camera is triggered with a remote or through a timer.

Watching these sticks in use, I noticed the the owners rarely took the camera off the stick. It appeared to make taking normal photos difficult. I wonder if the mechanism to clamp on the camera was too fiddly to allow quick attaching and detaching.
