Long Days

Getting a day ticket for the public transport in Lyon is a blessing and a curse. Being able to travel freely on buses, trams, and the metro for the day is great. Knowing that the remainder of the day will be spent ferrying heavy items back from Ikea and hardware stores like Leroy Merlin is less appealing.

One highlight of the recent long days has been the opportunity to photograph a near empty commercial centre.

What would a shopping centre be without a carousel

The tram stop at Porte des Alpes sits in the middle of an undeveloped field. During the day, the stop makes for a welcome breath of green after navigating the car park surrounding the stores. At night the journey back is particularly photogenic.
