Glenfinnan Viaduct

We passed over the Glenfinnan Viaduct on our journeys to and from Mallaig in Scotland. This is the impressive engineering feat used in the Harry Potter films.

Mallaig for Fish and Chips

We promised ourselves a fish and chip meal during our trip the Scottish coastline. We were not disappointed by the meal in Mallaig; hot, filling, and just what we hoped for.

Fort William

The weather was not perfect but for us that did not matter. Despite raining on one of the days we stayed, the remaining days were fine and we managed to get the walking in that we wanted.

Train to Fort William

We took the the train from Glasgow to Fort William. The journey was easy and pretty.

Glasgow's Gallery of Modern Art

We enjoyed a particularly lazy morning in Glasgow. After enjoying a coffee, we headed to the central Gallery of Modern Art for a couple of hours.

Glasgow

Glasgow did not match my expectations. The image of a dour city with little to recommend it was wrong. Glasgow nicely exceeded what few positive expectations I had.

Birmingham Air-Rail Link

As many others have done before me, I filmed the Air-Rail Link journey as we headed back. The system is fully automated, departs almost every two minutes, and feels swift enough not to add additional stress.

Greenwich Foot Tunnel – London Highlights

Greenwich foot tunnel is a pedestrian tunnel connecting the north and south sides of the River Thames. I was thrilled to be able to cajole our little band to walk to and through the tunnel over to Greenwich.

Barbican – London Highlights

I was not sure what to expect from the Barbican in London. The name rang a bell but I had never been nor did I know much about the site. As it happened we were close by and curiosity got the better of me.

Victoria and Albert - London Highlights

Visiting the V&A was squarely at the top of our must see places in London. The V&A is unlike any other gallery or museum I have ever had the pleasure to visit.
