4.2 – Suddenly a Ceiling Appears
We visited the building site by ourselves and discovered a ceiling has been added to the basement. We expected concrete supports but not the floor slab to have been poured.

4.0.2 – Happy for Rain
I’m sure few people building a house are pleased to see rain forecast. Rain on building sites tends to mean delays. I’m not hoping for rain, but when I checked the weather forecast and saw a few showery days ahead for Vichy, I smiled.

4.0.1 – The Basement is Done
Our meeting with the project manager and bricklayer was longer and more detailed this week. It had been a month since the last meeting, so there was a lot of progress to cover. The walls of the basement are now done, and they have poured the concrete floor. They expect to start the second floor next week.
4.0 – Denied Dessert
Two national train strikes alter our plans and we spent the night in Vichy. Our fourth site meeting and lots of progress to show you.
3.0.2 – Another Visit, Another Strike
Our last house visit plans were thrown into chaos by a national strike. It was a last minute scramble to reschedule and reorganise everything to get there. Now, four weeks on, and another strike is threatening to upset our plans again.
