Black and Red Insect

Surrounded by so many beautiful scenes to photograph and yet I still get a kick out of photographing the tiny.

Evening Stroll

After a long day, I needed to get out of the apartment last night; we opted to walk to the park. It was first time since moving that we have found the time to walk in the evening.

Surprisingly Easy

The transition from our holiday apartment to our new home is complete. The effort of organising and moving between the two apartments within Lyon is done; I am left with a stunned feeling of how smoothly this step went.

Paroisse Catholique du Saint Nom de Jesus

One of our new food markets sits next to Paroisse Catholique du Saint Nom de Jesus. This Roman Catholic church is surrounded by mainly residential buildings in 6ème, Lyon.

Demolition

Yesterday, on the way back from the prefecture, we chanced upon a building being torn down. The corner building was less than a shell of its former self. The sight of painted internal walls exposed to the street was arresting.

Long Days

Getting a day ticket for the public transport in Lyon is a blessing and a curse. Being able to travel freely on buses, trams, and the metro for the day is great. Knowing that the remainder of the day will be spent ferrying heavy items back from Ikea and hardware stores like Leroy Merlin is less appealing.

Recovering

Having recently fallen on concrete, I needed to find a doctor or medical centre in Lyon for follow up treatment. I ended up visiting Fondation Dispensaire Générale de Lyon, a general medical centre, within Lyon 3ème.

Hard Knock Life

I did not plan to throw myself into the French healthcare system so soon. The odds turned against me on Friday and I found myself in a French hospital emergency department being treated for a nasty fall on concrete.

Paroisse Notre Dame Saint-Vincent Saint-Paul

We stumbled upon the church of Saint Vincent and Saint Paul in Vieux Lyon this weekend. The church is nestled between the old centre of the city and a railway station.

Settling

We are committed. Last week we signed a multi-year lease for an apartment. The path getting us to that signing has not been easy but it is done.
