Rooftop Risks

So, the sight of three girls smoking on the ridge of an apartment block was a cause to grab the camera. The drop is five or six stories and lethal.

Specialised Bikes

Given that, seeing specialised bikes and vehicles around the narrower streets is great. A response to needing to move through the city easily and swiftly. Today I happened upon the TNT delivery bike in the photos below.

Tiny Elevators

It is a rotten trade when in payment for your new elevator, an apartment block carves not into the courtyard, but instead into the stairwell itself.

English Language

I stared at this metro poster for minutes before understanding the intended meaning. I only paid attention because the organisation teaches English and I felt I should understand the text.

Insects and Manual Focus

I have started playing with manual focus on the Canon PowerShot SX700. It is not the first camera I have had with this control but it is a feature I rarely use.

A Goat in Lyon

It is not everyday we see a goat in the centre of Lyon. This goat was tied up alongside a cafe.

Excessive Zoom

I have been wanting to settle down and write something useful about the Canon PowerShot SX700. My schedule has not allowed it this month. So a few recent photos will have to tide the topic over for a while.

Marseille Highlights

A little while ago, before the summer sun arrived in Lyon, we visited Marseille for the weekend. Here is a short video of the highlights.

Macabre Marseille

I did not expect to see such a macabre collection of artefacts: skulls, mummies of various animals, and shrunken human heads. The items were all on display in Marseille’s Centre de la Vieille Charité.

Cherry Blossoms

I have been taking photos of the same tree for a couple of years now. The tree sits near traffic lights on Boulevard des Belges and is unassuming. Then for a few weeks, the tree becomes a colourful burst of petals and pink.
